Alex Scott manages Culshaw Miller Criminal Lawyers under the practice director, Jeremy Culshaw.
Alex has experience defending clients charged with many of the most serious criminal offences in Adelaide and interstate including rape, attempted murder, drug trafficking and serious assaults. Alex also has a strong background in proceedings regarding intervention orders, dishonestly offences and traffic offences. He has further experience presenting and preparing complex and sophisticated defences such as mental impairment, and other technical defences to serious offences.
Alex takes a strong approach from the very outset, with a philosophy that a client’s rights are paramount and that no stone should be left unturned in testing the Crown case and preparing a strong defence. Alex is also experienced in guilty pleas that ensure that an accused person is presented to the Court in the best possible way such that a sentencing judge or magistrate is able to see the reality of the person before them, rather than ‘another criminal’ which can afford the accused leniency and a fair go in the form of a good behaviour bond or suspended sentence depending on the circumstances.
